Hi ppl a big hiiiii to all of u... well it has almost been a month since i wrote my previous post... in case if any of u were wondering wat held me up so long , as the blog title says it was a BOOK(to be exact it was a single book in 4 parts)... To describe it just as a book would be totally undermining it..... It was a lifetime experience reading it..... I was actually transported to that world completely and soon they became a subject of my dreams as well;-)))))
Fine guys i just dont wanna prolong my blah blah blah abt the book without mentioning its name... it is a historical tamil novel 'Sivagamiyin Sabadham' by Kalki(a well known author)..... Its a really really famous book(it might ring a bell somewher for most of u)...
From what i had written so far u might hav concluded that im a great fan of tamil books... well the fact is im now bt nt previously(i knw im confusing u all too much... he he he:-))) bcos it was just the 4th tamil novel i hav read so far , inspite of my love for books... Now to go on to how it all started(that is my passion for reading tamil books).... I was reading only english novels for many years, when one fine day just 4 months back my father asked me to try 'Ponniyin Selvan' , a novel written by the same author 'Kalki'...
I always had the feeling that tamil novels would be very cosmetic and descriptive that would interest only Grannies... But i was proved wrong very soon... i was really taken aback by the excellent narrative style of the author... and then decided to read these kind of books more n more... from then on i was craving to read all works of Kalki especially SS and finally got hold of that a fortnight back... its needless to mention tat i had no time for blogging, browsing n all tat after it.. Even going to office was irritating those days:-(((((( Was satisfied(infact elated) only after i read it...
Well now next, contrary to all ur expectations, im nt gonna write a review of these books... im no good to do tat either.... All i would say is it portrays the life of ppl during the early pallava-pandiya-chola-chera period in tamilnadu(i knw it would sound good to mention the year here bt well im nt writing a history book to do so:-))))))))))) so explore it out urself.... ) Both are real stories portrayed with some elements(appropraite amount) of imagination....
Well i hav said enuf abt the books... to give a finishing touch, if u are a person interested in all these historical stuff, then dont even pause to think, get hold of them immediately.... believe me u will thoroughly enjoy it...
Even for those who felt this whole blog was just meaningless nonsense, u can also give a try... Weird experiments now n then wont hurt much....
Ok guys well nw its time for me to go hunting for the next work of Kalki...(so dont wonder if i disappear for a month again:-)))))))) meanwhile u ppl either decide to ignore all this blah blah or trust me n go find the books( i knw i knw u would hav already opted for the second... hav fun reading:-)))))))))) do share ur comments as well after reading them:-))))))
